Not what I expected... by
Terri P from East Greenbush, Ny Sailing date: Mar 2009Pros: Room Steward.... Cons: Workers.....not so nice I was expecting to enjoy crusising as much as everyone I know does-I was completely taken back by the way we were treated. No one really went out of their way to help or even make you wecome. Its almost ike they went out of their way to not help you. I think when they are having "dance lessons" and you walk in - maybe someone would greet you or ask if thats why your there...not keep talking amongst themselves,.. like high school kids not wanting to talk to anyone but their Click. Ship QualityBeautiful Ship Dining/FoodFood was okay-again not a great experience-go to the buffet. food is better, and you won't feel bad ordering something else. Stateroom QualityUnbeleivable....Room stewards Rocked! Ship Staff QualityNot Good Entertainment & Activitiesamazing....really 8 out of 9 people found this review helpful.

A Cruise for Rest and Relaxation by
Cynthia B from Lexington, Kentucky Sailing date: Mar 2008Pros: Friendliness of staff, Entertainment Cons: When Cruise Ended Carnival Freedom is one of their "Conquest" fleet. It is large but comfortable for the more than 3000 guests on board.
The crew were in constant mode of keeping up with cleanliness, meeting our requests within reason.
The suite we had more storage space than I have ever seen on my previous cruises.
The beds were so comfortable that I actually slept in past 11am one day. That is what I call a real vacation. Ship Quality
Dining/FoodThe Supper Club (Optional restaurant with a $$ fee) was very good, but I truly enjoyed the dining room with the courteous staff and our dinner companion. Stateroom QualityI always enjoy the added balcony to sit out on and read, or just relax and let the ocean take me away. Ship Staff Quality

San Juan, Puerto RicoAt the time we were there in March it appeared that construction, road work was in progress. Personally it really isn't one of my favorite ports.
Charlotte Amalie, St. ThomasShopping is A+ in St. Thomas but the activities outside of shopping are numerous and enjoyed by all.
Philipsburg, St. MaartenUnfortunately I slept through the beach excursion we had signed up for. I couldn't roll out of bed for an 8:30am departure. Not on my comfortable bed.
I did enjoy the shopping in close proximity of the port, but St. Phillipsburg is close.

I highly reccommend this cruise! by
Tricia C from Boston, Ma Sailing date: Dec 2007Pros: The ship was huge with so many things to do and so many places to go! Cons: San Juan This is my third carnival cruise. Every ship I go on seems to get bigger and bigger with more activities and places and things to do on the ship. My fiance and I departed from Miami on Dec 1, 2007 and entered the brand new Carnival Freedom. The decor of the ship was beautiful. The food was fantastic, except for the pasta being a little over cooked but what can you expect? I reccommend you go to your assigned dinner because you literally become family with your server and busboy since you have them all week long. The breakfast and lunch buffets were great, with doing a "taste of a nation" every single day whether it be Italy, France, Asia, etc. The Carnival Freedom had three pools on the lido deck. All salt water except for the 5 jacuzzi's. I can't even count how many bars there were because there was sooo many! From the Swing time lounge, to the Cabana lounge (selling great Cigars), and of course the 70's Disco. Of course, much more. They even had a sushi bar that opened up from 5:30pm-8:30pm serving different varities of sushi every day. YUM. The casino was nice too if you like to gamble, as I do not. One of the cruisers on my ship won $120,000 on his last night on a slot machine, lucky! The drinks, oooh the drinks! Let's just put it this way. You get what you pay for which is a lot. They don't stimp you on alcohol. They are very generous pourers! This cruise is great for families, singles, and couples of all ages! Ship QualityThe Carnival Freedom is one of the biggest of the Carnival Fleet. Our rooms were spotless every day, twice a day. The cruise itself was ALWAYS clean and organized. Great for the handicaped as well. Dining/FoodWe didn't try the Supper club, but next time we will. Its $30 extra a person, but you get a lot more variety and better quality food. We had the 8:30 dinner, which we picked and loved it. It gave us time to do cocktails before hand. The menu was great, even if your on a diet. They had what they called "Spa Carnival" which gave you options of low cal/fat meals. (I wasn't even going to try that! I'm on vacation, give me everything!) Stateroom QualityWe were on the Verandah deck 8C, beautiful balcony. They only problem about that was we were RIGHT under the Lido deck, so we heard a lot of dragging of chairs, etc. It wasn't to bad though. Ship Staff QualityEveryone who worked on this ship and others I have been on are trained to the T on hospitality. Bravo to all of them. I had NOT one problem with any of the staff. Entertainment & ActivitiesJust read their daily itinerary. Enough Said. So many things to do!

San Juan, Puerto RicoI wasn't a fan. We got there at 5pm which left us with nothing really to do but go to Senor Frogs. The stores were "eh". If we got there maybe in the morning, it would have been a lot better. We could have gone to the beach.
Don't Miss: Senor Frogs. Charlotte Amalie, St. ThomasThis is one of my favorite Islands in the whole world. I did the Christmas Cove snorkeling. It was unbelievable. The shopping here is increddible.
Don't Miss: Snorkeling at Christmas Cove Philipsburg, St. MaartenThis island is absolutely beautiful. My fiance and I decided we're going to spend a week here next Holiday. The only problem was that we had a 9 year old with us and all the beaches are pretty much clothing-optional. And I mean...clothing optional. The beaches were beautiful and I couldn't get myself out of the ocean. I believe it was Orieon Beach on the French side. The Dutch Side has amazing shopping right near the port.
Don't Miss: Orieon Beach on the French side 53 out of 54 people found this review helpful.
