Excellent Cruise by
A Traveler from El Paso, Tx. Sailing date: Sep 2009Pros: Very Organized Cons: Sit Down Dinner Food at times was not hot. The coffee was not as good as what was served upstairs too. Thankful that we were on the Sensation rather than the Fascination. They seemd to have a rowdy crowd on theirs and I observed that they boarded from Miami. The place must make a big difference. Have nay closer to El Paso for us? Ship Quality

Ship Staff QualityThe food being cold was the kitchen staffs problem and the waiters only delivered it. They are not to blame for the degree of the food's warmth. Entertainment & Activities

Great value cruise for the money. by
A Traveler from Reno, NV Sailing date: Aug 2009Pros: Great Service and 24-hour food! Cons: Only 1 small pool for entire cruise-ship... The food was very good and all of the services were great. I enjoyed the crew and the cruise ship has a lot of different activities. For the deal I got on this cruise, it was a great value. I did not like that there was only 1 pool that was filled with kids 24/7. I also did not like how expensive the drinks were, but then again, I didn't pay much for the cruise either. I also did not like how the tables work in the casino because the dealer has an overwhelming advantage, far beyond what typical casinos have. Ship QualityShip was very clean and was in pretty good condition. I especially thought the room was in very nice shape. Dining/FoodThe food was excellent and servers were as good as it gets... Stateroom QualityThe room was incredibly small but was very clean all of the time and the server cleaned it constantly when we were out of the room. Ship Staff QualityMost of the crew were very friendly; however, there were a few that I could have done without. Overall though, very good. I got to know the servers very well and they were awesome. Entertainment & ActivitiesThe ship offered a lot to do at times but not many options. So there was always 1 thing going on basically, but it may not be what you want to do, and in that case you're out of luck.

  Very Nice Get-Away by
Don L. from Orlando, FL Sailing date: Jul 2009Pros: Comfortable Ship and Accommodations, Water Park with Slides Cons: Getting stuck with the 815 pm dinner seating While not as large as some other cruise ships, the activites and amount of things to do easily exceeded our ability to do everything. This was the second trip for us on the Sensation, and both have been very enjoyable. Ship QualityNot as big as other cruie ships, but very well kept and clean. We saw no problems this time around (last time there were issues with some of the bathrooms being out of service). Really enjoyed the new water park area on the aft deck. Dining/FoodWas disappointed in our inability to avoid the 815 pm dining time in the main dining. It just did not work well for our daughter and on a family cruise we like to eat together. Food on the Lido deck restaurant was better than before and made up for that though. Overall we were very happy with the food available and no one went away hungry. Wish they had more than one place to go for real ice cream though. Had to go down to the coffee shop to get a real ice cream sundae. Stateroom QualityVery nice, well kept and comfortable. Course we basically just slept there. Ship Staff QualityVery courteous and helpful. Had a wonderful time and always found someone to help us out when we needed it. Entertainment & ActivitiesSame production of "Curves" that we saw last year on this cruise. I guess we expected something different. Still, well done and entertaining. Played a lot of mini-golf and ping-pomg, didn't participate in a lot fo the organized activities. We prefered to just lounge. Children's ProgramsVery strong kid's programs. We participated in the 6-9 year olds and our daughter really enjoyed her time. Lot of variety, with high points being playing Wii, making sno-cones, and having snacks of course. Used the services a total of about 8 hours over the course of the cruise.

Freeport, Grand Bahama IslandWent to the Viva Wyndham Resort. Nice beach and very pleasant day. Not real elaborate (not like Atlantis) but a really nice get-away. Food was OK (better than I expected based on some other reviews I had read). Kind of pricey though considering you only stay there for about 5 hours. Can't comment on the rest of Freeport or the island - didn't see it.
Nassau, BahamasReally enjoyed the Pirate "museum". It was more a set of re-creations of pirate environments (ship scenes, etc) than a collection of artifacts, but very well done. If the "pirate" greeting guests is the same one we had, it makes the whole thing enjoyable. Good convincing pirate. Also enjoyed the horse carriage ride - nice little diversion and not too pricey.

  Vacation Disappointment by
Zelda B. from Altus, Ok Sailing date: Jul 2008Pros: Shows and Food in Dining Room Cons: Majority of the crew was rude and the teen spa day We recently sailed on the Sensation and found it to be extremely disappointing. We had never cruised before and had never been to the Bahamas. From the time we arrived to board the ship until the time we departed the ship we found it to be totally non relaxing! The majority of the crew was rude and hollered commands as if they were herding a ship full of cattle instead of paying customers. We had booked a 50 minute massage - we were finished with our massage and back down to our room in 50 minutes. We booked a teen spa day for 3 girls which consisted of them giving each other the services. Very awkward for teenagers who don't know each other and are giving each other personal services. When we entered the ship it was as though you were in the 70's. We paid well for what was suppose to be a 5 hour excursion to the bahamas and ended up being about a 3 hour excursion instead. I will say that our room was always clean and the evening dining was fantastic. Ship Quality

Very Nice Three Day Cruise by
Don L. from Orlando, FL Sailing date: Jun 2008Pros: Cruise staff, customer service Cons: To be blunt, the food in the main dining room Overall impression was very positive. Very nice vacation. Good experiences throughout. People were friendly, helpful and the ship was well maintained (except for one bathroom by ht epool that seemed to be out of order a lot). Ship QualityThis was our first cruise so hard to really compare to anything else, but the ship for all the people never seemed crowded. Clean, neat and well maintained. Dining/FoodReally enjoyed the more informal dining area. The formal dining room area was very attractive. Great service. Food was good, but maybe our expectations were so high going in they would have been difficult to meet. Stateroom QualityGreat bed for sleeping. Very comfortable. You don't spend a lot of time in the room, but three of us managed to manuever around in it with minimal effort. We had no problems with the room. Ship Staff QualityGreat attitudes throughout. Very open to greeting and smiling. Nice atmosphere. Room steward was excellent. Made little towel animals that our daughter found fascinating. Entertainment & ActivitiesWe didn't do that much on board (went to one show, hung otu at the pool). We mostly went for a relaxing informal escape, and got everything we wanted. The entertainment we did see was very good. Children's ProgramsOur daughter started out not wanting to go to the camp carnival activities. By the end of the third day she was asking when she could come back. They really won her over.

Nassau, BahamasDolphin encounter at Blue Lagoon was really nice. Kind of on th epricey side for what you get, but considering the prices of everything else worth the time and money. Great staff. We did not get downtown at all since it was a national holiday when we were there.

Stick to the newer ships. by
Jeff A from Boston, MA Sailing date: Apr 2008Pros: Promenade deck had some good things to offer. Cons: Different funky smells in almost every room and hallway. Smelled musty and gross. This ship is in desperate need of a complete overhall as well as redecoration. Nowhere near as nice as the newer ships like Victory/Freedom/Conquest. Food at the buffets was horrible in the afternoon and dinnertime. Breakfast buffet was not bad. Dinner in the formal dining rooms was good, not as good as some other cruises but it still was good. Ship QualityVery confusing layout of the ship. Been on larger ships and could always get from point A to B easily. Not on this ship, lot of dead-ends and confusion. Dining/FoodBuffets were horrible. Main dining room scores a good 7/8 out of 10. Not perfect but still very good overall main dining experiance. Stateroom QualityVery old looking and smelling. Had a oceanview room. Windows from day one were grossly dirty and cloudy. Ship Staff QualityFriendly staff. Entertainment & Activities

  A very relaxing cruise by
Gwen C from South Carolina Sailing date: Jan 2008Pros: The entertainment was nice. Cons: The food wasn't as tasteful as in the past. The 24 hour pizza staff acted as if they were saving the pizza for their lunch breaks. The ship wasn't as tidy as the others I have sailed on. The staff showed just how tiring the last cruise was before boarding us. The ship needs MORE SHOPS! Ship Quality
Dining/FoodIt needs the HOT COOKIE BAR like another ship that I sailed on. Stateroom QualityThe beds are very comfortable but there's always a restoom type smell in the room itself. The decor really puts you in a foggy mood. It just doesn't have a really fresh smell. Ship Staff QualityThe staff seemed to be programmed and not relaxed. I realize they have to meet the needs of many but most of them seemed very intensed and not rested. Entertainment & Activities

laura p from tampa fl Sailing date: Apr 2007Pros: the bed was very comfortable Cons: the food wasn't as good as before I have sailed many of carnivals smaller ships. I found this staff to be just going through the motions. The food was not as I remembered, and the selections were limited. The Pizza ria staff seemed like they were doing you a favor by waiting on you. Ship Quality

My big sister and me on a cruise by
JoAnn J from Manchester, NH Sailing date: Feb 2007Pros: The food was great and the enterntainment was wonderful. Cons: The cruise was too short. I went on line and found an amazing price for a cruise, I called my sister right away,(She was already in florida) and told her about the wonderful trip and asked if she wanted to go with me, I told her it was so inexpensive, that I was going to foot the bill. It was an exceptionally low price and I didn't want to pass it up. She said she would go but was having problems with walking lately. I said ,"Don't worry, we'll get a wheelchair if you need it." I got the last cabin on the main deck , that was available. It turned out to be a handicapp room..We didn't even know til we got to our room..The doors was very wide to accomodate the wheelchair easily. Don't get me started on the walk in shower. It was huge! The rest of the restroom was also large enough for the wheelchair . We just lucked out on this wonderful cruise.
Ship QualityThe crew and people in general were very helpful when it came to getting on the elevators and getting into the lounges. Dining/FoodThe food was scrumpious. We would go to dinner, thinking we really wasn't that hungrey for a big meal again, but once we saw the menu, our eyes told a different story. Stateroom QualityLike I said before, the room couldn't be better. The beds were so comfortable, that I didn't want to get up in mornings. Ship Staff QualityI felt I needed a nap during the afternoon, when I called the pursers desk and asked if someone could turn down my bed, as the bed was in the wall during the dayl Someone came within five minutes to do this for me, even with a smile on his face. Entertainment & ActivitiesI have been on many cruises, and I usually fine the entertainment on most cruises to be just okay, but the entertainment on the last night of the cruise was excellent! The dancers and singers were awesome to say the least.
