Jerry L from Portland, ME Sailing date: Apr 2008Pros: You can have whatever experience you want Cons: Drinks are too expensive, pay $50 per person for gratuities whether you like it or not. Ship was kept very clean, crew was quite friendly. Ship is run like a small city. Ship Quality

Ryan R from Lisbon, CT Sailing date: Dec 2007Pros: accomodations, staff very friendly & helpful..ship very clean and modern Cons: Food did not impress -- not enough space to lay out -- crowded pool areas Staff very eager to impress -- especially cleaning/service--- we had a shower break and it was fixed within minutesw of me calling and reporting. Ship was incredibly clean and well kept -- plenty to do on board, excursion desk was excellent -- staff very friendly and helpful. Nights were quiet, peaceful --- no noise, etc. Food was OK...I was expecting more at dinner -- but service was great. Did have a small complaint about Matre'D -- we wanted to tip our head waiter a little extra at end of cruise, but we could not find him --- we asked the Maitre'D if he could locate him for us, but he did not help us only saif "He is probably back washing dishes --- we wanted to give him $$ for outstanding serice, and we could not b/c Maitre'D would help locate him... The cruise was okay by
Melissa H from Boston Sailing date: Mar 2007Pros: Dining experiences and Suite accomodations Cons: Swimming pool If you are looking to totally relax plan on doing so in your stateroom. There was only 1 small operating swimming pool which stayed crowded with drunks in their early 20's. The lounge area by the pool was also a disappointment as it was always standing room only. This was awful since my grandaughter is 4 and maintenance was being performed on the kids pool for the entire 5 day trip. Ship QualityThe ship's cleanliness was impeccable! Dining/FoodThere were many dining options available to all. The diningroom staff were extremely accommodating especially Vanya and Carol in the Carnivale dining room. They were very kind, remembered our names and were just all around awsome! Stateroom QualityWe had a suite that Julia kept immaculate. She also ensured that we remained stocked with essentials i.e. kleenex, emergen C's, etc. Ship Staff QualityStaff were friendly Entertainment & Activities
Children's ProgramsChildrens pool was being maintained throughout cruise and camp carnival staff seemed completely unphased along with being unwilling to obtain information regarding when it would be available. CC staff (for pre-teens)seemed irritated and bothered when you asked questions. Not friendly at all.

Calica, MexicoTook a taxi to Playa Del Carmen. Shopped and received some excellent prices on Tequilla. We walked to Grande Walmart to purchase ship snacks, water and an additional suitcase. We ate at a restaurant (I can't remember the name) and had 2 for 1 drinks along with the best loaded nachos I have ever had! The beef was not ground beef but actual steak! YUM!!!

  Christmas with the Family by
Linda C. from Boston, MA Sailing date: Dec 2006Pros: Cozumel Jeep Tour and Snorkel Cons: Crew not friendly or helpful Our family just cruised on the Carnival "Inspiration" for Christmas. We found that the cruise was just like any other 5 day cruise that they offer. Nothing special for Christmas. A few decorations in the dining rooms and the promenade. Nothing special at all about this company. My college aged kids had nothing to do. Discos empty, entertainment for them was nonexistent. Will not travel again with this company. Have sailed with Norwegian many times and even the least disappointed cruise was better than this one. Very disappointed. Ship QualityThe ship was very clean. Dining/FoodDining room food was OK. Nothing special. Did not accommodate my son's picky eating. Most food prepared so no special requests were available. AS an example, no sauce on chicken, no salad dressing on salad.
The grills were great. Very accommodating to individual orders. Stateroom QualityThe Upper Outside cabin had enough room for the three of us. The bathroom needs updating. No hair dryer in room. Was able to get the last one at the Purser's desk. Most ships have a hair dryer in rooms.
Room steward very helpful. Ship Staff QualityNot much to say. No personality on this cruise. Everything, including staff, unmemorable.
BLAH! Entertainment & ActivitiesFor a special Christmas cruise there was nothing special, only the same old, same old. Not much in the area of entertainment on the Lido deck. Every other cruise had lots going on on the pool deck. Music, games, bands, etc. Children's ProgramsNothing for 18 - 21 year old group, except gambling. AS college students they lacked the funding for that entertainment.

Cozumel, MexicoShore excursion - Pelicano Jeep tour w/ snorkeling, small ruin, shopping, beach coast ride w/lunch all good. In the explanation of the excursion more detail is needed. Our family didn't know we were going to be able to do a small amount of shopping, brought no money. Also, did not know lunch was being provided.

overall we had a good time by
Andrea B from boston Sailing date: Nov 2006Pros: able to get food when ever you wanted, decent selection Cons: gym-outdated For the most part the ship was very clean and the crew very friendly. I was expecting a little more glamour, which i didnt find at all. The mixed drinks were very costly and for the little amount of alcohol that was in it. When we had a day at sea we got pretty bored. There should be a gaming room with a better selection for adults. You could never get a ping pong table b/c people brought the paddles to bed with them, there wasnt air hockey, fooseball tables, not much for adults to keep entertained. We decided to play bingo to have something to do, we pay $20 to find out its for only 1 game! That entertained us for 5 minutes. Ship QualityI nearly lost my breakfast when I went to put some stuff away in the bathroom and put the toliet cover down to find something really nasty, ill let your imagination take off. Other than that, our Steward was very nice and kept our room tidy. Dining/FoodI do have to commend Carnival for having a wide variety of not only healthy alternatives to select but vegetarian meals. I was impresed by that. Stateroom QualityI have to say the bed was very comfortable; I slept like a rock which was just what i needed. Ship Staff QualityStaff demonstrated exemplary customer service. For the most part everyone was very friendly full of smiles! Entertainment & ActivitiesWe were bored way too much.

Calica, MexicoWe went horseback riding on the beach and then swimming. The cowboys were great, the experiance was wonderful. After that we had a blast parting with the mexicans! Caica was so much fun!
Don't Miss: swimming in the ocean George Town, Grand CaymanGlad I can say that I visited this island, however, there was not an excursion that interesed us. I refuse to go near sting rays, I have already snorkled in Aruba, there was nothing that sparked out interest.

  Average Sailing experiance! by
randall B. from Ga Sailing date: Oct 2006Pros: Food and our Waiter Catilina, Cons: Bad Bed Bugs... The ship is kept very clean in most cases considering it is several years old. We have cruised this one before and found that the shows are the same, we could tell this but our guest had no clue and we just kept it that way for there first time cruising.
Our waiter made the trip for us this time, Catilina was very good in his care of us during meals, would go again on this one if I knew he would be our waiter. Ship QualityMost of the ship is very clean, some of the restroom that have high traffis say around the pools need more attention during busy times. Stateroom QualityWe knew the room service was a key in our return to this ship, however the room stewart showed very little hospitality, meaning he never greeted us or ask if we had concerns. The shower backed up into the bathroom area everytime and that made the towels get wet fast cleaning it up, but when they got there to fix it, all was fine. Just wasn't the great room service we have come to know or bragged about to our guest. Ship Staff Quality
Entertainment & ActivitiesMost of the activities were the same as the last few cruises on Carnaval, seems there are creative issues among the fleet. Great for first timers but seasoned cruisers need a WOW afect also.. Dont want to get bored.. Children's ProgramsOK, alot of cost extra's.

  A very relaxing cruise! by
Jen M. from Salem, NH Sailing date: Oct 2006Pros: Great food and fantastic service. Cons: High pressure sales to buy product from the spa after services and spa appointments book up fast. The ship was very nice and clean. The dining staff was amazing. Every night you would be treated like royalty. They gave recommendations on food, wine and desert selections. They reminded us every night what entertainment was being offered. The service was amazing, truly over the top treatment. The cabin stewards offered the same impeccable service. Your room would be constantly maintained. Sheets were turned down every evening. Towels were replaced multiple times throughout the day and they always left a surprise behind. Most of the staff would remember you by name and provided you with outstanding service. This experience is a must try at least once in you life. Ship QualityThis is not one of those huge ships you will never see all of but it was well maintained and nicely decorated. Dining/FoodFood was excellent with a variety of choices. Stateroom QualityRooms were small and decor was average. Ship Staff QualityFriendly and personable staff. Entertainment & ActivitiesLoved the comedy shows.

Cozumel, MexicoCarlos & Charlies and Senior Frogs are a must try. The shopping was the same from store to strore. If you looking for a workout try the zip line adventure. You will rock climb up two towers, fly across a zip line, repel down a 60' tower and snorkel up the side of the ocean against the current. Definitely quite the workout.
