Great cruise for our anniversary by
A Traveler from Oklahoma City, Ok Sailing date: Aug 2009Pros: relaxing Cons: it was very noisy and toooo many kids This was our second cruise on the Conquest. The service was not as good this time and we never talked to or saw our room steward. The ship was not as clean as before and the shows were the same as they were two years ago. We were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary and the waiters brought us a cake and sang Happy Birthday to my husband!! Ship Quality

  Relaxing cruise by
A Traveler from TX Sailing date: May 2009Pros: The Movies under the stars on the big screen Cons: The theatre, small and needs to be updated. This was our 9th cruise but a first for Carnival. We loved the atmosphere, the staff was exceptional. Never before have we not ate in the main dining room until this cruise and the food for the buffet was very good. This cruise was totally relaxing. What more could you ask for???? Free Sauna room, steam room, movies outside, 24 hr pizza and ice cream. Everything was very clean and well maintained throughout the entire ship. We loved to eat our dinner at our convenience and then go and layout and watch the movie or Videos under the stars.. Ship Quality

  Carnival Western Caribbean Cruise by
LBJ from Chicagoland Sailing date: Dec 2007Pros: Cruise line did a very good job of crowd control on the ship Cons: Drinks (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic) were VERY expensive!!! We had a nice cruise, despite the unfortunate weather (cold front) that rolled in, causing very, very unstable sea conditions. Most other cruise ships bypassed the Grand Cayman port because of the poor conditions, but Carnival went for it. Although I commend our captain for forging ahead, most of the excursions were cancelled due to the bad weather, so that left only shopping and the beach (it was cloudy and 68 degrees), and passengers had to be tendered to another pier, quite a ways away. So, we just stayed on the ship and relaxed, although there was nothing to do on the ship because everything was closed (required when in port). But Jamaica (our first stop) was lovely, and Cozumel (our last stop) was awesome. We have 10 and 12 year old children and there was PLENTY for them to do. I've been on a Carnival cruise before, and hesitated to book again, due solely to my less than favorable experience of long lines everywhere. But, even though the ship accommodated 3,000+ passengers, there were no major lines anywhere. And, there were plenty of deck chaise lounges for everyone. The crew kept everything cleaned and organized, which was a big bonus, in my mind. Ship Quality
Dining/FoodWe thought the food was very good -- the restaurant for a sit-down dinner, buffets, and the burger and hot dog stations. (My children did not like the pizza.) We had the last seating, and there was no problem ordering what we wanted. However, drinks were another story. I think the cost for drinks was absolutely a rip off. At the very least, all non-alcoholic drinks should be part of the cruise price. As for the alcholic drinks, the cost of wine (my drink of choice) varied from $6 (house wine) to $10 per glass. It was interesting that when I ordered a glass of "house" wine, they seemed to be out almost every time, and ALWAYS offered a different wine that was about $8 or more! Stateroom QualityWe booked at the last minute, so we ended up in a stateroom without windows. I don't think I would do that again, but the room itself was totally fine, and accommodated the four of us with no problem. Ship Staff QualityEveryone was friendly and helpful. Our room steward was exceptional. Our waiter, on the other hand, was okay. I think he just had too many tables to handle. Entertainment & Activities
Children's ProgramsMy 12 year-old really enjoyed the 12-14 Program, and she participated in it quite a bit. There was enough variety, and she could come and go as she pleased. Some of the events were supervised, and some weren't, but we were fine with the program overall. She made some friends as a result, and I think it made the cruise more enjoyable for her.

Cozumel, MexicoIt was much more beautiful than I remembered it from before.
George Town, Grand CaymanWe stayed on the ship due to the poor weather conditions, but I've been to Grand Cayman before, and think it's a very beautiful island. I gave it a "1" happy face rating because that was the only way to post a comment. Otherwise, I would rate it six happy faces.
Montego Bay, JamaicaWe met up with "friends of friends" who actually lived on the island, so we had a different tour/experience than most of the other passengers.

5) The Shows were of good quality.

Cozumel, MexicoAfter the huricane damage sustained by Cozumel it was great to see the effort put in by the locals to get things back to normal. The locals were very friendly and helpfull.
Don't Miss: The Diamond Shops George Town, Grand CaymanBeautiful, clean and very friendly Island. Would definately visit again.
Don't Miss: The Turtle Farm visit Montego Bay, JamaicaMy Wife and I were very disapointed in Jamaica. We took the Island Tour and quickly came to the conclusion that we would never come here for a Holiday. The Island seemed to be run down. The Local gathering of Craft Shops were a complete waste of time.
Don't Miss: None 5 out of 8 people found this review helpful.

  My frist cruise by
LaShunda J from Oakland, Ca Sailing date: Jun 2006Pros: The clean air and beautiful water. Cons: The food This was our first cruise. I took my daughter on it for her graduation. It was so much fun for both of us. I never thought it could be so beautiful and people could be so nice. Ship QualityThe ship was so large and the decor was very nice. Everything was so clean and fresh each day. Dining/FoodThe food wasn't great but it did have fruits and vegetables that I could eat. There was food to eat all the time. Stateroom QualityThe room was absolutely the best that I coould have imagined. We had the port holes, and even tho we were at the bottom of the ship the cabin was very spacious, and the quality of the room was great. The only thing that would have made it better would be if I had purchased a cabin with a balcony. Ship Staff QualityI have never seem such friendly people, ready to serve you. Entertainment & ActivitiesThere was so much to do we did'nt get a chance to do it all. Such a large variety, there were things that my daughter and I could do together and alone.

Cozumel, MexicoWe went to Passion Island and that was great.
George Town, Grand CaymanThis is a beautfiul place. Friendly people. I think is may be better to explore on your own than to get a tour. You don't get to see much on the tours.
Montego Bay, JamaicaI didn't see much but the shopping was great!

  Honeymoon Cruise by
Eric F from Mesquite, Tx Sailing date: Jun 2006Pros: The peace and tranquity of the waters. Cons: The food. This was my first cruise and my new wive's second. We had a party of 8 for our honeymoon cruise. It was really great! Ship QualityThe ship was so large it took us til the last day to see everything on it. We didn't get to spend a lot of time at each location but it was well worth it just to walk thru. Dining/FoodThe food was that good. The formal dining night was very good, they just don't serve much. But since you can ask for more it was ok. The best food was in the restaruntwhere you had to pay. It would have been nice if all the food had the same quality. All in all it was ok. Stateroom QualityI don't think the cabins can get much better than the one we had. Roomy, spacious, balcony, sofa, table, chairs. It was great! Ship Staff QualityThe staff was great. Very friendly. Entertainment & ActivitiesThere was a lot to do at all times. Things you didn't normaly do and things that you did all the time. The library had good books, we played basketball. Just a lot to do.

Cozumel, MexicoBecause of the hurricane last year, there was a lot of destruction but the beautiful island that we went to could not have been better. Passion Island is the best place to go.
George Town, Grand CaymanThis was a place to see. Beautiful, friendly people, clean, and a lot to do. We took a tour of the place and it was great.
Montego Bay, JamaicaIt was a little depressing in Montego Bay. I think we didn't have enough time to see the real beauty of the place.

  First Cruise by
Kenneth E from Dallas, Tx Sailing date: Jun 2006Pros: The sailing was great. The environment on the ship was very good. Cons: The quality of the food. Not what I would call good food at all. This was my first cruise and I really loved it. The cabins were great. The staff was fantastic. I don't have anything to compare it to but this was just great! I would recommend it to anyone. Ship QualityThe ship was so large we had to break up our days to see it all. Dining/FoodThe food was ok. You really didn't have a good variety and the quality was that good. But on the other hand, you could eat all day. Stateroom Quality

  A great cruise by
Debra D from Dallas, Tx Sailing date: Jun 2006Pros: The great staff and super clean cabins. Cons: The food. The Conquest is one of the nicest ship's I have every been aboard. Ship QualityThe size is much better than some of the sister ships. Everything is easily accessible. All public areas were cleaned constantly which made me feel good about the cleanliness of the entire ship. Even though the ship needed some touch-ups on some of it decor, it was still elegant in design. The ship's legend on each floor was easy enough for the children on board to find their way around. Dining/FoodThe restaurants were clean and had a great comfortable environment. Elegant and stylish. There were several of them aboard, so you could dine anytime. I was a little disapointed in the choice of foods and the quality of some of them. The servings are very small, but since you can order as much as you want, that was OK. Overall, it was very good. Stateroom QualityOur stateroom was really fantistic! Roomy, comfortable and a great view!!! The room was cleaned once a day and straighten twice a day. Our cabin was in the forward of the ship and surprising to me it was very quiet as for as ship sound goes. Ship Staff QualityOur cabin steward was terrific. Knowledgable, friendliy, quick to respond to every call, even when the call was not for his service. A small problem had to be cared for and he followed up to make sure that it was taken care of to our satisfaction. I felt like "A Queen on a throne". Children's ProgramsThe children on the ship had something to do at all times. From the youngest to the oldest.

George Town, Grand CaymanThere was not enough time to see this beautiful place. But it sure gave you an idea about coming back for an entire week!
