Great Ship and Time by
peter b from Providence RI Sailing date: Oct 2009Pros: The ship was gorgous. Upscale and very clean. Cons: Enterntanment was a little bit less than expected Ship was elegant. This is our 4th cruise and the best ship we have been on. The balcony rooms were great and this ship has many of them. We enjoyed having room service in the morning and sitting on the balcony and having breakfast - the best. Davids is worth the extra money - as my wife felt it was the best stake filet she has ever had and I agree! All the food was good - Davids was exceptional! But again, from burgers to pizza, all very good. Ship QualityBeautiful Ship Dining/FoodDavids is a must! But everything was good. Stateroom QualityBalcony was awsome. Ship Staff Quality
Entertainment & ActivitiesThe shows at night were good - the other entertainment was a little less then I would have liked. Last cruise had an awsom band - this ship was okay. 0 out of 0 people found this review helpful.

Beautiful Ship with lots of options! by
Sarah B from Reading, PA Sailing date: Apr 2009Pros: The food selection Cons: The limited time at the islands We took the Pride to the Bahamas. The ship is beautiful, and the activities onboard are plentiful! We had an oceanview stateroom and the room was very spacious compared to other cruises I've been on. Also, the food was outstanding. We were offered the "your time dining". It was the first time they offered it, so after the second night once they got all the kinks out, it was wonderful to go to dinner whenever you wanted to. Also, the optional restaurant, Davids, which is an extra cost was well worth the money. The food and wait staff were exceptional. I highly recommend going there one night. The only complaint I had with regard to the cruise was the time at the islands. It would've been nice to have a full day at both ports. I would highly recommend this cruise to anyone! Ship Quality

  Another Carnival cruise by
Derek F from California Sailing date: Mar 2008Pros: Ship is clean and safe Cons: 25% of the staff need a new job Had a good time getting away. This is my 5th cruise and my 4th with Carnival. There was 5 in my group my wife and I and our 3 kids 15,11,10. The ship is clean and fun. There are always fun things to do for adults and kids. Honestly on this trip I hardly saw my kids when we were at sea because they were always off doing their own thing. My biggest complaint about the ship is the staff. About 25% of them need to find a new line of work. The casino staff was the worst. They were down right nast and rude to us. After the 2nd day we just quit going because it was so bad. No I'm not just a sore loser becuase I was winning. The servers in the Taj Mahal will not serve you if you have a drink card or just want a glass of water but if you order a drink they will have it there in a couple of minutes. On four different occasions my kids either ordered a soda or water and never received their order. I think they work on tips alone and if there is no money in it for them they figure why bother. Although you pay 15% gratutiy on the drink card it self. I have never had this happen on any other cruise so I was very put off by this.
The security staff when you get on the ship the first day and off the last day are rude too. They act as if we the customers cruise everday. I way I saw them talk to some of the customers was down right bad. Ship Quality

Mazatlan, MexicoJust went shopping here. The city is kind of dirty and unapealing.
Puerto Vallarta, MexicoI went to Las Calitas. I feel it was a waste of time. For $400 for 5 of us not worth it. I love the city and would recomend anything else other then this getaway.
Cabo San Lucas, MexicoGreat city.

  beautiful ship!!! by
Gina C from Boston ,Ma Sailing date: Nov 2006Pros: the decor and our balcony Cons: how expensive water was to buy.. I was very impressed with the style of the ship.I'm not a big art fan but the art that was displayed was gorgeous. It was kept very clean also, anytime you turned the corner someone was cleaning something . I also loved the fact they had an adult swimming pool only and if even 1 child walked into the pool someone came over and escorted them to another pool!! The rooms were great and the staff was impecable! My only complaint was how expensive the bottled water was and sodas if you didn't want to buy a soda card it was $50.We dont drink that much to buy it.I also wished we could have brought our alcohol in our rooms that we buy on excursions to Mexico. It gets very pricey on the ship.Maybe someday they will have an ALL INCLUSIVE cruise. That would be GREAT!
Also the exursions are way more expensive on the ship than if you buy them online or at the destination. We payed $50 more than each one we did. I know it sounds bad but the whole experience was awesome.. It was our honeymoon and we had the best time.We actually got engeged on a carnival ship last Feb and loved it so much we returned for our honeymoon!!! We just learnned some things on each trip what to do for next time! Ship QualityBest ship I ever seen so far!!!! this is my 3rd cruise with Carnival Dining/FoodVery clean, always hot, and delicious!! Yum! Stateroom QualityI loved our Balcony.I was afraid it wasn't going to be all that great but I was proved wrong!! I 'll always get a balcony now... Ship Staff QualityEveryone was A++++++++ I only had one problem with the excursion lady she was short staffed and she was very stressed which in turn made me stressed..But other than that....they were perfect!! Entertainment & ActivitiesNot that much to do as far as activities for myself and husband more for the younger kids but that was ok b/c we were relaxing anyways.. Loved every minute of it!

Puerto Vallarta, MexicoAlot of fun we did 2 excursions that day A++++++++++++
Don't Miss: The Rythym of the Nights OH how beautiful!!!!!!!! Cabo San Lucas, MexicoLoved it as soon as we pulled up to this beauitful place... Bad thing we were not here long enough..I would've givin up Mazatlan to be be all day and night. I heard the night scene is the best here but we had to leave by 3:30pm Defintaly not enough time...Also pay for for trips online or at Cabo.We found out we were charged $50 more than it actually was..

  Great Week! by
Stephanie S. from Los Angeles, California Sailing date: Feb 2006Pros: I liked being on vacation. Cons: The kids club. I liked the layout of the ship. It was easy to navigate around and find our way. Ship QualityI have few suggestions....first of all people were slipping constantly on the surface around the pool. This was way too slippery. An elderly person would have a vary hard time trying to walk by the pool into the dining area without breaking their neck. If the floor wasn't slippery from the pool water or people dripping on it, then there was an employee who was mopping. I understand that they have to mop, but there really should be some sort of NON-STICK mat or something to reduce the chance of slipping and falling. This was a real problem. Dining/FoodThe food was great, but we were a group of 10 and originally we were split up into 2 tables for dinner. This trip was planned 8 months ago and it was specifically requested that we wanted a table for 10! This took a while to iron out. It eventually worked out, but this should not have been a problem from day 1. Especially since this was requested so far in advance. I have another suggestion...why can't the dining room put the spoons inside the napkins with the fork and the knife? Why did the spoons have to be in a separate place? You get your food, you find a table, you take out your silveware and there's NO SPOON! Just put all 3 of them together. How hard is that? It just makes sense. You shouldn't have to get up again and walk over to where the spoons are. Just wrap them up with the fork and the knife together in the napkin! Stateroom QualityThere was NO hand soap in the bathroom of our room. Other than that, the room was very comfortable for the 4 of us. The beds were also comfortable, we slept very well. Ship Staff QualityWe had a glass break in our room. So, we asked the cleaning lady who just happened to be in the hall to vaccuum for us when she could. She did it right there and then, and she wasn't even the person assgined to our room. Entertainment & ActivitiesThere should have been more activities such as movie night. The live entertainment was enjoyable. Children's ProgramsMy kids wanted nothing to do with the kids club. They said the activities "were lame." I agree with that! Their ages are 12 and 14. There wasn't much for them to do. My daughter was invited "by invitation" to a party at night that had a fee of $26. The invite said they were going to play hide and seek and capture the flag....why do these activities cost money???? If she wanted her brother to come it was an extra $14. It would have cost me $40 for them to go to the party. This was a complete rip-off! I was NOT going to pay any fee for activities that don't cost anything. Why should there be a fee for this? This did not make any sense to me. I really felt that they could have planned more fun stuff for the kids to do that didn't cost anything extra. What about just showing a movie and having popcorn? A talent show for the kids? Art projects for their age group? Board game competitions? The ideas are endless. This is an area that clearly needs to be improved. 8 out of 10 people found this review helpful.

  Lots of Fun by
Laura C. from Boston, MA Sailing date: Jun 2006Pros: Karaoke, Normandie Dining Room Cons: Low ceilings, dark colors, closed-in feeling The ship wasn't as big as I thought it would be. The ceilings were really low in most of the areas on the ship and the color-scheme was very dark. Both contributed to a very closed-in feeling that I have not gotten on other ships. Ship Quality

Entertainment & ActivitiesThe showtime performers were not that good. They didn't look very professional, and we actually left 2 shows in the middle because we were bored.

Mazatlan, MexicoThere wasn't must to see at this port. I would highly suggest going over to Stone Island and doing the ATV tour. It was a ton of fun.
Don't Miss: ATVing at Stone Island Puerto Vallarta, MexicoChico's Paradise was a must see -- there is a lot to do there such as eat, hang glide among the trees and swim.
Don't Miss: Chico's Paradise Cabo San Lucas, MexicoThis area is gorgeous. We went snorkeling and then to Lover's Beach. We had a great day until it was time to get back into the boat at Lover's Beach -- it was very difficult and 3 people ended up with cuts and bruises.

  total fun ship! by
Marnz from California My family & I took this cruise 4/3/05 and we had a great time! I have a 5 yr. old, a 10 yr. old and a teen ager and all of them had tons of activities on board. We enjoyed the food, the games, the atmosphere, and the shows were fantastic! As for the excursions, do not miss the dophin encounter for the kids in Puerto Vallarta and the beaches in Mazatlan. We took the glass bottom boat tour and had a blast in Cabo! The only thing that was a draw back was the short time in Cabo San Lucas. Other than that, be ready to gain weight from eating all day and all night, and get ready to have a great time! 25 out of 25 people found this review helpful.
