  Just what we wanted by
A Traveler from Boston MA Sailing date: Aug 2006Pros: Children included Cons: Poor guidance regarding tours and Nassau The Fantasy was kept clean, breakfast and lunch good, stateroom excellent. Debarkation well done. Needed more announcements and guidance regarding tours and places to visit in shore. Never saw or heard from the captain. Cruise director wonderful on stage but should have been more visible when guests leaving the ship. Ship Quality

Children's ProgramsProgram looked excellent, but in the 12-14 age group the staff had no idea of how to run the program or what they should be doing. However, it did allow our grandson the opportunity to meet other teens on the ship and that's why we did Carnival.

  Carnival, good for all! by
A Traveler from Concord NH Sailing date: May 2006Pros: Grand Turk, Camp Carnival & The Food Spread Cons: Weak Drinks, Some Service Staff & Bad Coffee The ship is not like some of the newer ones, however, it still hosts a great ambiance. The Category 12 suite's are perfect when traveling with children. The ship stays very, very clean. The rooms smelled nice. THE LAYOUT: Getting used to the ship, that's tough. The elevators seem to bounce you all around. But you eventually figure it out. There is mini golf, a decent size pool with a water slide, two jacuzzi's on top deck. There is also a perfect kids pool to the rear. There are about 7 different bars and clubs, and two buffet restaurants, and I believe three dining rooms which are all nice. Ship Quality4 stars for accessability! Deserves a 5 for cleanliness. Dining/FoodThe quality was just above par. Food selection was great. Ambiance was great. Don't buy the soda cars for everyone in your party, they hardly check, just flash one or two and they are fine. Stateroom QualityMy stateroom, a category 12, perfect. Cleaned twice a day, jacuzzi, great shower pressure, beautiful view, location U94 was just right. Decor, well, interesting! Ship Staff QualityThe great staff make up for the not so great. There are some of those. Our cabin steward was the best. Members of Camp were wonderful, one was not so pleasant. Kids had a great time, parents, DO NOT WORRY. Take them if it matters. Entertainment & ActivitiesGreat shows, dont listen to the other reviews, stay away from Karoke unless you find it funny no matter how long the song. Country, pop, blues, music playing all over the ship. Parents, unless you pay a baby sitter, which you might think to do, you nights end without much other than a "PG" show, and the casino. Most of the good stuff starts at around 9:00pm. Children's Programs2-5 range is geared around 3.5, so the staff makes up for it by going off the schedule, both our boys got face paintings daily, good disney movies, free play. They both made friends. The staff is qualified. No language barrier in the camp, where it is sometimes a problem on the rest of the ship. They give you pagers. Forget what you read online about the opening and closing of the camp. Here it is. Go for the 6:15 or later dinner. The camp will actually take your kids to dinner and they will eat with thier age group. The kids had a good time, we watched them from a distance. When you get into port, they like you to pick up the kids by noon, but do not close, they again, take them to lunch. They are only closed between 4:45 - 5:45 for the staff to eat, then they open back up. Safety did not appear to be a problem at all. They log your kids in, the signer must be the one to pick them up using the stateroom key.

Grand Turk IslandJimmy Buffets Margaritaville. Fun, exciting for all. Intro to scuba, great first experience. Water was clear to the bottom, like tap water.
Don't Miss: Bathrooms were not open at port. Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island)Best place in the world for kids. Has a water slide, water shoots, water clear to the bottom.
Don't Miss: Drinks were warm. Nassau, BahamasAtlantis is cool to visit, you will want to go back. Straw market was packed, be prepared to sweat.
Don't Miss: The people. 7 out of 7 people found this review helpful.
